This piece is a love letter to the silent music that lives in nature—the kind we don’t hear with our ears, but with something quieter inside us. Hand-made and layered in warm walnut and pale birch, The Still Resonance centers on an acoustic guitar, surrounded by swirling mandala and floral forms that echo both movement and melody. The guitar represents not just music, but memory—its curves and strings evoking songs we carry, even in silence. The wood layers of mandala patterns are a nod to timelessness, suggesting the rhythm of breath and the eternal return of melody. Together, they form a landscape where art, nature, and sound blend into something both grounded and ethereal.

Working with wood is an act of deep listening. Every grain, every layer, brings its own tone and texture. I chose walnut and birch for their contrast—dark and light, dense and soft—like harmony and dissonance learning to live in the same space. Each element was cut, sanded, and placed with the intention of honoring the instrument, the earth, and the stillness between notes. This piece is meant to be felt as much as seen—a quiet reminder that sometimes the most resonant music comes not from sound, but from presence, pattern, and the beauty of still wood dreaming.
